WECO’s sorting systems utilize a variety of technologies including colored light emitting diodes, optical sensors, dynamic sensors and mathematical algorithms to detect irregularities in a population of products. This process can be used to sort for under or over ripe fruit and vegetables, adhering material, stains, off-color and a wide range of foreign material such as shell, sticks, rocks, dirt, rodents and other debris.

When an object to be removed is detected. A signal is sent to the reject mechanism which then fires either an air driven paddle or air nozzle that in turn removes the object from the population of good product.
